Who are these scholarships for?

Graduating high school adults, undergraduate students, and graduate degree students residing in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, or Rappahannock Counties.

  • The mission of Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board dba Encompass Community Supports is to improve the quality of life in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock Counties by providing comprehensive mental health, substance use, developmental disability, housing, children’s, and aging services.

    Our Scholarship goal is to provide financial support to local community residents as they earn their advanced education degrees within Human Services.

    SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

    • College Freshman Scholarship Recipients receive up to $5,000 for the academic year 2025-2026, up to a maximum of $30,000 throughout undergraduate studies enrollment.
    • College Sophomore Scholarship Recipients receive up to $5,000 for academic year 2025-2026, up to a maximum of $25,000 throughout undergraduate studies enrollment.
    • College Junior Scholarship Recipients receive up to $10,000 for academic year 2025–2026, up to a maximum of $20,000 throughout undergraduate studies enrollment.
    • College Senior Scholarship Recipients receive up to $10,000 for academic year 2025-2026.
    • 1st year Graduate Student Scholarship Recipients receive up to $15,000 for academic year 2025-2026, up to a maximum of $30,000 throughout graduate studies enrollment.
    • 2nd year Graduate Student Scholarship Recipients receive up to $15,000 for academic year 2025-2026.

    Encompass Community Supports will pay half of an awarded scholarship for academic year 2025–2026 to the student’s college or university at the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester and at the beginning of the Spring 2026 semester upon the scholarship recipient submitting all required documentation. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain good standing with their college or university, as well as provide Encompass Community Supports with a copy of their transcript at the close of each semester during which a scholarship was awarded.

    Scholarship recipients are eligible for summer internships with Encompass Community Supports.

    Scholarship Award Eligibility

    • Reside in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, or Rappahannock Counties, Virginia.
    • Attend an accredited college or university in the United States.
    • Pursue a degree in the Human Services field (ex. Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.).

    Scholarship Applicant Instructions

    1. Complete the online application and submit an essay and personal statement below.
    2. Only online applications will be accepted.
    3. The application submission deadline is March 30, 2025.
    4. Applicants will be notified of a decision no later than April 30, 2025.

Instructions

Scholarship recipients are required to forward a copy of their transcript to our Human Resources Division at the end of each semester. Scholarship recipients are expected maintain academic good standing and not be placed on academic probation. Upon the Scholarship Committee’s receipt of the transcript, the Committee will review that the scholarship recipient maintained a satisfactory GPA and was not placed on academic probation and are in good standing with their educational institution. If a scholarship recipient is unable to maintain good standing with their educational institution, the scholarship will be withdrawn for future semesters.
